CHRISTMAS IS FOR CHILDREN

Dear Dawson Families,

Hard to believe that the Holiday Season is already upon us!   Honoring the tradition and joining all of CISD, Dawson will again support Christmas is for Children (CIFC) this holiday season.

What is CIFC (www.christmasisforchildren.com)?

  • 501(c)3 non-profit organization
  • provides all children the love, care and joy that comprises the spirit of Christmas
  • fulfills wish lists of children in need throughout the Metroplex  (all agencies served may be found on the CIFC website)
  • wish includes a need (e.g. clothing), a want (e.g. toy), an educational item (e.g. book) and a family holiday meal
  • bestows charity in a way where beneficiaries retain dignity, witnessing the true spirit of Christmas and best of humanity
    • Monday, November 10th
      • Angels distributed to each Advisory and conversation begins between teachers and students
      • Each student is invited to select one item from the angel wish list (a gift, wrapping supplies or delivery needs)
    • Friday, November 21st
      • Short presentation about CIFC during the Helping Hands Day closing assembly
    • Monday, December 1st

Christmas is for Children is one of the many ways that Dawson will be participating in community giving initiatives this season. Please speak with your kids about CIFC to help ensure they understand the importance of this event!  Our goal is to further enhance their compassion for others and passion for volunteering today, tomorrow and in the future.

If you have any questions or would like to be involved, please contact us.  In the past your family, may have individually adopted a CIFC angel.  If you would like to continue this tradition, please let us know. We are grateful for your support and participation.
